Police: Man wanted for shooting Philadelphia school safety officer arrested in Paramus

Paramus police say Ariza Giansteban, 29, shot and critically injured the officer in late June.

A man wanted in connection with the shooting of a Philadelphia school safety officer was arrested in Bergen County this weekend.
Paramus police say Ariza Giansteban, 29, shot and critically injured the officer, as well as firing upon three Philadelphia police officers following a road rage incident with another driver. The shooting happened in late June.
Paramus police say they were told on July 5 that Giansteban may have been heading to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus following the Philadelphia incident.
Paramus police say they worked with New Bridge Medical Center security to locate Giansteban and take him into custody.
Giansteban was taken to Bergen County jail to be held pending extradition to Philadelphia.
