Passaic County police are stepping up patrols after they say a man tried to lure a teenage boy into his car Tuesday.

According to police, the incident happened near Wayne Valley High School when a man asked a 14-year-old boy for directions to the school. The man then asked the teenager to get into the car and show him.

The teen ran away and reported the incident to police. The suspect is described as a black male, between 25 and 35 years old with a shaved head and buck teeth. He was driving a two-door Ford Explorer with chrome rims.
