Authorities in Tewksbury, Hunterdon County say a 79-year-old man suffered minor injuries last week after being attacked by a raccoon while walking his dogs in a park.

Police: Man suffers injuries followed attack by racoon in New Jersey park
Authorities in Tewksbury, Hunterdon County say a 79-year-old man suffered minor injuries last week after being attacked by a raccoon while walking his dogs in a park.
The attack happened Friday just after 7 p.m. in Christie Hoffman Farm Park.
According to police, the animal bit the man’s pants leg before he fought it off. Chief Tim Barlow said the man said he went to a hospital for treatment of scratches to his arm.
Minutes earlier, police said, a person was chased by a raccoon in the park, but managed to get away without injury.
Police say the raccoon was located and killed, and will be tested for rabies.
