The Jackson Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a burglary suspect who allegedly broke into a home while a teenage girl was home.
The incident happened Thursday just before 1 p.m. at a home on Leesville Road.
Police say the girl was alone when she heard someone knocking at the front door and ringing the doorbell repeatedly.
She heard a loud bang that was later determined to be from the suspect kicking the front door in to force entry to the residence. She then called 911 while hiding in a room in the residence. When the suspect discovered the teen in the room, he ran out of the house and left on a motorcycle.
Police say he then led officers on a chase before they had to end the pursuit for safety reasons.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Jackson Police Department at 732-928-1111.
