A Maplewood man is facing charges for committing a lewd act in a Berkeley Heights library two months ago, according to police.

Authorities say 43-year-old Samorio South was seen exposing himself by a computer station on Feb. 26.

A witness informed library staff, and he was asked to leave the premises.

The incident was reported to police nearly three weeks later.

An arrest warrant was issued on April 8. Police say South’s whereabouts are unknown.

Anyone with information is urged to call 908-464-1111.
