Investigators in Asbury Park are looking into a possible police-involved shooting that happened Wednesday around 7:30 p.m.
Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey that a man was shot, and a young child was grazed by a bullet.
The family of one of the victims identified him as 20-year-old Dante Allen. Family members say Allen was walking to a deli when some type of confrontation happened with police and he was shot. They say he was unarmed at the time.
Witnesses say they heard about six gunshots go off. Another witness says a young girl was seen with a bandaged head sitting in an ambulance.
About six blocks near Adams Street have been blocked off by police.
Police have not released any official details. The condition of the two people shot is unknown.
