A person claiming to be a police officer tried robbing a man early Friday morning in Allerton, according to authorities.
Investigators say the 35-year-old victim was approached by the suspect on 2526 Boston Rd. around 2:30 a.m. He then pulled out a knife and attempted to take the man’s cellphone.
The victim fought back and managed to retrieve his property. He is expected to be OK.
The robber remains at large. Anyone with additional information is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
