Police say a Newark firefighter was found dead in their firehouse and another was hospitalized after they were found unconscious.

Authorities say the firefighter who died was a captain in the Newark Fire Department while the second firefighter is retired. 

They were both found at the fire house on Park Avenue.

There is no word on the cause, but police say there were no signs of violence. 

The name of the fire captain has not been released.
