Police say the body of a man was discovered inside a white van parked in the far corner of the Denville train station Saturday afternoon.
The body was found around 12:30 p.m. by a Denville patrolman during a routine check of the area. According to authorities, the patrolman noticed the driver?s side door of the van was open and looked inside to find a dead man?s body surrounded by blood.
Dozens of investigators from several law enforcement agencies, including New Jersey Transit, the Morris County Sheriff?s Department and New York City police, combed the area Saturday. Police say the van was stolen from New York City.
"[The van] has Maine registration and it was stolen out of New York City," Robert Bianchi, the Morris County prosecutor, says. "So right now, we are doing removal of the body and we'll be doing extensive processing of the vehicle."
The prosecutor's office asks anyone with information that might help the investigation to call Crime Stoppers at 973-267-2255.
