Police and the FBI are investigating a break-in and racist graffiti scrawled on the wall at the Moonachie home of an injured New York Giants player.
Authorities are investigating the break-in at Nikita Whitlock's home as a hate crime.
Whitlock, who's black, showed the graffiti to reporters, including "KKK" and a swastika. The name "Trump" was also written on the wall in marker.
The player and his family spent the day painting over all of the vandalism and cleaning up the mess. They also met with police for about five hours Thursday. Police believe Whitlock's home was broken into Tuesday night. Whitlock says there was also an attempted break-in three weeks ago.
Whitlock says he's talking about this because he wants his attackers to know that oppression, violence and racism have no place in society.
"I'm not a Trump supporter. But I don't like that they are using him for a personal decision that they made. This was their decision," Whitlock says. "Writing Trump, I just think it's asinine."
Police are asking neighbors for any security camera video.
Whitlock says that he has received calls of support from the Moonachie mayor, Giants owner John Mara and from the Anti-Defamation League.
