Police: Barber arrested for attempted child sex abuse in Riverhead
On Monday night the dad allegedly got drunk with the barber, Hilario Hernandez Dela Cruz, when Dela Cruz tried to touch the boy and offered him money to perform a sexual act.

Riverhead police say that the father and his son were customers of Larry's Barber Shop on East Main Street.
On Monday night the dad allegedly got drunk with the barber, Hilario Hernandez Dela Cruz, when Dela Cruz tried to touch the boy and offered him money to perform a sexual act.
The boy was able to contact his mother and left unharmed.
The barber was arrested and is facing charges of attempted sexual abuse, criminal solicitation and child endangerment. Dela Cruz was arraigned and held on $75,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
He is due back in court on July 17.
Police are not releasing the father's name to protect the identity of the child, but he was also arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. The father was arraigned and released.
Police are asking anyone who knows any additional victims to contact the Riverhead Police Department.
