A fallen power line caused a minor brush fire in Wayne Township Friday afternoon.

The state Forest Fire Service was on the scene to make sure the fire did not reignite due to the dry conditions around New Jersey.

Officials say the fire was near Route 23 and Ratzer Road. No significant damage was reported.

New Jersey has not seen rain in more than a month, causing a high risk of fire danger.

New Jersey residents are advised to be extra cautious with any open flames. No fireworks, campfires or charcoal fires are allowed at this time.
