A drunk driver hit a utility pole Tuesday and caused power outages in Toms River, according to police.

Authorities say Deborah Camiscoli-Spedick, 70, of Toms River, was driving on Church Road around 11:30 p.m. when she missed a curve and hit a pole.

The pole cracked at the base which resulted in the power lines falling to the ground. This caused three different sections of brush on the side of the roadway to catch fire.

Camiscoli-Spedick refused medical attention and has been arrested on DUI charges, police say. She was issued traffic citations for reckless driving and careless driving.
