Winslow police say a man who was carjacked jumped in the passenger seat to try and fight off a teenager for his own car.
Officials say the carjacking happened Tuesday at Jersey Bagel in Winslow on Sicklerville Road. They say the victim and the 17-year-old suspect from Winslow struggled for the car while it was still moving which caused them to hit two other cars near the bagel shop. No injuries were reported.
The 17-year-old suspect left the car and fled on foot, police say. They say an officer happened to pass the location just after the incident occurred. K-9's from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Voorhees Township Police Department responded and initiated a track. Police say the suspect was found nearby by running in the Kenwood Condominium complex.
The teen was charged and arrested. He was sent to Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
