A burglar in Middlesex County walked away with a small puppy, according to police.
Monroe Township police say that an 8-week-old chocolate-Lab huskie mix puppy named Matcha was reported stolen from a farm on Gravel Hill Spotswood Road. Police say that the theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.
The staff at the farm says that they are devastated by the theft.
"Every day when I walk in, I always count the puppies and make sure none of them got out of their cage. I noticed one of them was missing,” says barn manager Kylie Vaillancourt. “So, I recounted everyone and then started searching...tearing everything apart looking for maybe an escaped puppy. When we didn't find her, I knew that something had happened."
Vaillancourt says that no charges will be filed, they just want the puppy back.
Anyone who sees the puppy is asked to contact Detective DeGraw at 732-521-0222 extension 163.
