Police: Burglar kicks in door, steals money and jewelry from Hackettstown apartment

Police say that the incident happened at 175 Main St. around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Hackettstown police are investigating a burglary that happened at an apartment on Thursday morning.
Police say that the incident happened at 175 Main St. around 11:45 p.m.
Police say that shortly before the burglary, two women came to the apartment and asked the tenant to if they could use the bathroom. One woman used the bathroom, while the other stood in the kitchen near the doorway to a bedroom, according to officials. These women then left.
Police say that about 15 minutes later, someone kicked open the front door of the apartment and stole money and jewelry from the unit.
The tenant was inside a locked bedroom at the time and was not hurt, according to officials.
The women who initially came by are described as being approximately 45 and 60 years old.
