Police boost patrols as LepreCon returns to Hoboken
Revelers decked out in green took to the streets of Hoboken for LepreCon Saturday -- and so did police officers trying to keep everyone safe.
Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante says peak hours are between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. during LepreCon. But the chief says he wants residents to know he has it covered.
More than 180 officers were set to patrol just over 1 square mile Saturday night. Ferrante says his department made 34 arrests in 2012 and that more than 100 people were hospitalized that year.
Last year's festivities yielded four arrests and 28 hospitalizations, he says.
