Police: Barnegat man didn’t return car after test drive, drove to Atlantic City

Stafford Township police say that 47-year-old Jason DeAngelo went to the Barlow GMC dealership on Feb. 18 and took a white 2023 GMC Sierra on a morning test drive.

An Ocean County man is accused of going to a car dealership and taking a vehicle on a nine-hour test drive to Atlantic City.
Stafford Township police say that 47-year-old Jason DeAngelo went to the Barlow GMC dealership on Feb. 18 and took a white 2023 GMC Sierra on a morning test drive.
Police say that a short time later Tuckerton Borough police tried to pull DeAngelo over on Route 539, but he did not comply. They did not pursue the vehicle.
Police say that DeAngelo and the vehicle were eventually located in Atlantic City. He was arrested inside Tropicana Casino.
DeAngelo is charged with third-degree unlawful taking of means of conveyance and second-degree eluding.
