Police: 56-year-old man fatally shot in Longwood

The victim had been shot multiple times around his torso.

Authorities say an overnight shooting in the Longwood section of the Bronx has left a 56-year-old man dead.

According to police, they responded to a 911 call to 976 Simpson St. at around 11 p.m. and found the shooting victim unconscious and unresponsive. The victim, identified as Kevin Roberts, had been shot multiple times around his torso. He was taken to New York Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he died.

Police say the suspect fled in a vehicle, and there are no arrests at this time.
