Police in Egg Harbor Township say two people caught in a rip current had to be rescued from the water by a passing boat.
The rescue happened Sunday afternoon in the water off ‘Dog Beach’, near Longport Boulevard.
According to police, Andrew Vanhoy, 35, of Runnemede, and Joshua Vanhoy, 38, of Burlington, were swimming off Malibu Beach when a rip current pulled them out from the beach and under the Ocean City Bridge.
Police say people in a boat nearby were able to rescue the two men and return them to the beach just west of the bridge.
