Police: 2 suspects wanted for attempted armed robbery of Garwood supermarket

Police are seeking surveillance video from those who reside on or near Willow, Myrtle and Spruce avenues at the intersection of East Street.

Two suspects are wanted for attempting to commit an armed robbery Wednesday night at the Kings Supermarket on South Avenue in Garwood.
Police say an employee called 911 at around 10:48 p.m. reporting that two men wearing surgical masks and dark clothing entered the store after hours.
After being confronted by an employee, one of the suspects showed a gun. However, authorities say both suspects fled empty-handed before police arrived.
Police are seeking surveillance video from those who reside on or near Willow, Myrtle and Spruce avenues at the intersection of East Street.
Garwood police describe the suspects as two Black males between 40 to 50 years old. They were seen wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. One was also wearing a red backpack.
