Two separate crashes involving alleged drunk drivers left multiple people injured in Clifton over the weekend, according to police.

In the first incident, a Belleville woman, 43-year-old Paola Velez, was charged with DWI after a wrong-way crash on Route 46 early Sunday morning. Authorities said Velez was driving east when she veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with another vehicle. Velez was unharmed, while the other driver sustained a leg injury and is expected to recover.

In a second incident, 39-year-old Felix Gonzalez of Clifton faces DWI charges following a five-car crash near the intersection of Lexington and Highland avenues.
