One dead after gunfire erupts on Cornelison Avenue in Jersey City

Two people were arrested Tuesday after a fight broke out outside an Amazon distribution facility in Woodland Park.

Police say that Enyel Checourena pulled out a machete during an argument outside the McBride Avenue facility. When police arrived, they found a large group of people outside yelling and running around.

Officers were able to view a cellphone video that allegedly showed Checourena wielding the machete.

Checourena was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Checourena’s wife, Taynara Andujarvizcano, was also arrested. She was accused of charging at a police officer who was trying to arrest her husband.

Police say the incident started as an argument between two people parked at the facility. One person was treated for minor injuries.
