Howell Township police are investigating the theft of more than 100 political campaign signs in the town.

Authorities say about 130 “Leggio for Mayor” signs were stolen from various locations last month and were discarded in dumpsters behind the Ramtown Plaza.

Police say a Toyota Camry was used in the thefts.

John Leggio is one of three Republican candidates vying to be the town’s next mayor after Democrat Theresa Berger announced she won’t run for reelection in November.
