A plow driver saved two dogs seen running alone Monday morning in the Town of Babylon.

Officials say Kenny McGowan was working when he spotted them westbound on Sunrise Highway.

He followed the dogs a mile down the road before safely positioning himself and blocking traffic to retrieve them.

Several good Samaritans assisted, securing the dogs and wrapping them in a blanket during the rescue.

The four-legged friends were taken to the Babylon Animal Shelter, where the staff tracked down their owners using a microchip.
