She is considered one of the biggest superstars to come out of New Jersey, but hard times forced Whitney Houston to put her possessions up for auction Tuesday.
Racks of designer dresses, many custom made for the singer, were lined up inside an Irvington storage warehouse waiting to go into someone else?s closet. Fans walked through the warehouse hoping to buy something glamorous for their collections. However, most buyers were musicians and studio owners looking through the instruments and studio gear.
A court order forced Houston to put her possessions on the auction block. Houston owes approximately $150,000 on storage fees for the warehouse where she kept her tour items. According to the firm tending to the equipment, any money earned from the auction beyond what is owed will go to Houston?s company, Nippy Inc.
