Sunny skies and a light wind allowed afternoon highs to climb into the upper-50s and low-60s on Tuesday. Tomorrow should be just as sunny and warmer.
Neighborhoods away from the bay or ocean will see temperatures soar tomorrow afternoon. Plenty of sun and a favorable wind should launch temperatures into the upper-60s to around 70. (Not record-breaking, however. The record was 77 degrees in 2012.) Any air off the ocean will curb that serious warmup for Newark Liberty International Airport. The coast will see sunshine and remain on the coolish side because of the ocean's influence.
Patchy fog will develop Wednesday night as nighttime lows hover in the mid-40s. The murky-looking sky will continue into Thursday, and temperatures will fade to the mid-50s.
Rain moves through the region Thursday night into Friday morning. The one question we will try to iron out through the next few days is, will the cold air that moves in behind the storm marry up perfectly with some leftover moisture and change to snow?
Early morning motorists might have an opportunity for some spring snow showers. We shall see.
