A 31-year-old Perth Amboy man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday on the New Jersey Turnpike in Edison Township.
State police say troopers responded to the southbound lanes around 4 a.m, where a BMW SUV driven by Alan B. Cahuanasayhua struck the rear of a parked Chevrolet pickup truck on the right shoulder.
Police say a Lexus SUV then hit the BMW from behind, followed by a Mazda SUV, and the BMW and Lexus struck a concrete barrier.
Cahuanasayhua was thrown from the BMW and died from his injuries, police said. The drivers of the Chevrolet, Lexus and Mazda suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
