An explosion in Perth Amboy Tuesday sent workers in an industrial park running for safety.
The fire chief said a paint room furnace in the Englert Distribution building exploded. The furnace is used to treat aluminum at the company.
All employees inside were able to escape safely. Firefighters managed to keep the flames from reaching other volatile areas inside the building.
Englert representatives said although the building suffered extensive damage, they will not have to close their doors or lay off any employees. The company expects to be back in business Wednesday.
