Person struck by NJ Transit train at Lebanon Station

A person was struck by a New Jersey Transit train Wednesday afternoon at Lebanon Station, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 3:48 p.m. when Raritan Valley Line Train 5744 struck a person at the station, according to NJ Transit. The train had departed High Bridge at 3:39 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Newark at 5:11 p.m.

The person was taken to a local hospital. The extent of the individual’s injuries was not immediately known.

About seven passengers and crew members were on board the train at the time. No injuries were reported to the crew or passengers, officials said.

Train service was suspended in both directions between the White House and High Bridge stations following the incident.
