Person shot in leg after reports of overnight gunfire in Nyack

While police were canvassing the area, their headquarters got a call from Nyack Hospital saying someone had walked in with a gunshot wound to the leg.

One person is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg after police say they received numerous overnight reports of gunfire, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

Police say multiple callers reported gunshots near Main St. and N. Mill St. around 3 a.m.

While police were canvassing the area, their headquarters got a call from Nyack Hospital saying someone had walked in with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police confirmed the victim was hurt in the area where gunshots were reported. Their injuries appear non-life-threatening.

Police are still investigating what happened.
