According to state police, 27-year-old Valdaishi Simpkins, of Irvington, died Monday.
Authorities say a Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-80 and entered the right shoulder where Simpkins’ Honda was parked and disabled. They say Simpkins was outside of her car and stopped on the shoulder when the tractor-trailer struck her.
