A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for attacking a domestic violence victim in Atlantic City last year, prosecutors said.

Lucas Moran, 27, of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty July 22 to one count of aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim in Superior Court in Atlantic County. Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend a five-year state prison sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 15.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Atlantic City police responded Sept. 28, 2025, to Adriatic Avenue after receiving a report that a person was being dragged into a vehicle. Investigators said Moran, identified as the victim's ex-boyfriend, dragged the victim toward a Chrysler 300 with Pennsylvania registration and threatened her with a knife. The victim escaped, prosecutors said, but Moran then tried to force her back into the vehicle before the victim's mother intervened and stopped him.

Prosecutors said Moran fled west on Absecon Boulevard before New Jersey State Police stopped his vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway. Authorities said troopers recovered a folding tactical knife from Moran.
