The nesting season for African Penguins is currently underway at the Mystic Aquarium.
The aquarium is home to 14 mated pairs of penguins.
Penguins mate for life, with some pairs bonded for more than 35 years.
The aquarium is an active breeding colony and participates in the species survival plan.
Its goal is to welcome new penguins to the colony annually.
Visitors can learn more about nesting season and chick rearing through Mystic's Penguin Nesting Up Close program, which is available through April.
