Authorities have reopened a stretch of Route 9 in Old Bridge after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The incident happened in the southbound lanes near Perrine Road. The roadway was shut down just south of Route 34 for several hours.
Police say the woman tried crossing Route 9 south at around 3:30 a.m. It is believed that she did not have the right of way when trying to cross. She was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
