A pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck early Wednesday morning in front of the CVS Pharmacy on Route 46 in Hackettstown.

According to police reports, a 61-year-old man was driving when he veered off the road, striking the individual who was walking on the sidewalk. The victim was killed in the incident.

The driver was taken to Hackettstown Medical Center for evaluation. There has been no immediate information released regarding whether the driver will face any charges as a result of the crash.
