What better day than National Dog Day to adopt a new best friend? If you’re looking for a playful, smart pup, Tony might be your perfect match.
A one-year-old hound mix, Tony is smart and curious. Volunteers from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center say he loves to run, play and explore, but he’s just as happy cuddling up with his humans.
“While hanging out at the shelter front desk recently, Tony impressed everyone with his friendly, easygoing personality. He greeted everyone who came by with a happily wagging tail,” said Diane Ashton, director of communications for St. Hubert’s.
Tony does well with other dogs and would thrive with a new family willing to provide training, enrichment and exercise.
Those who aren’t ready to adopt but still want to support the rescue can participate in the upcoming 5K-9 Run & Walk for the Animals. The event takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, at St. Hubert’s Madison campus. Runners, walkers, animal lovers and their canine companions are all welcome to participate.
The dog-friendly fall event will feature a USATF-certified 5K and a 1-mile walk, followed by a post-race celebration with food, animal-themed activities and more. All proceeds will support St. Hubert’s lifesaving programs, which help thousands of animals each year.
