At just 3 months old, Pecan is charming, curious and ready to find his "furever" family.

A current resident of Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter, Pecan is a hound mix with a sweet, shy disposition.

"He’s curious, gentle, and already showing that classic hound charm that makes you smile without even trying," according to his bio on the shelter's website.

Pecan is just beginning to learn basic commands, but he'd thrive in a home with a family willing to continue training him.

"With patience, consistency, and a little guidance, he’s going to grow into a wonderful dog," the shelter says.

Shy at first, Pecan is friendly and volunteers at the shelter say he'd make a great companion.
