When Betty was rescued from a shelter by Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption, she was in rough shape.
Betty was suffering and in desperate need of medical attention and care when she was removed from a New Jersey shelter. Lauren DeNoma of Best Friend said the shelter where she was found couldn't even promote her as an adoptable bet because of her poor condition.
Fast forward several weeks later and this senior pup is healthy, affectionate and volunteers at the rescue say she's ready for new adventures and a family of her own. She's now fully vetted and through the efforts of volunteers and veterinarians, she's overcome some health issues, proving her resilience.
Betty is friendly, loves treats and has knowledge of basic commands, especially when her favorite treats are involved. She's good with people and would prefer to be the only doggy queen in the castle.
"Betty is the picture of good manners—she’s housebroken, crate-trained, and sleeps peacefully through the night in her own bed with her favorite blankies. She doesn’t climb on furniture but stays close to her people, offering warmth and companionship. She has also learned to take treats gently and even knows how to give a friendly high five," her description in the adoption website states.
