Prosecutor: Paterson police officer indicted on multiple acts of domestic violence

A Paterson police officer was indicted on multiple acts of domestic violence, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced on Monday.

According to Valdes, 38-year-old Alberto Sanabria was charged with multiple acts of domestic violence that took place in Paterson on Dec. 23. He was indicted on one count of third-degree terroristic threats, one count of fourth-degree cyber harassment and one count of fourth-degree stalking.

Sanabria was placed on administrative leave, according to Paterson police.

Sanabria was released on a summons complaint and will appear in court on Aug. 19. He faces several years in prison if convicted.
