yesterdayPolice say a man from Paterson is facing murder charges for a shooting on Oct. 12 near Summer Street and Hamilton Avenue - not far from a middle school.
Authorities say Jaleel State, 29, shot Adalberto Roman, 47, who is also from Paterson, in the head around 1 a.m.
Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh previously told News 12 New Jersey this shooting was the fifth homicide in the city that week.
State faces several charges, including murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is being held at Bergen County Jail, where he is awaiting his first court appearance.
