An early-morning crash on Broadway in Newark left two people hospitalized and shut down the busy road for hours Friday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Broadway and Arlington. According to officials, a car hit several parked vehicles before flipping on its side.
The driver and passenger were both taken to University Hospital. The passenger is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the flipped car is a county juvenile detention officer. He was off-duty at the time of the accident.
Broadway was reopened to traffic around 10:30 a.m.
