Sheriff's officers in Passaic County are doing their part to help those in need in Puerto Rico following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
Many who work within the Sheriff's Department are from Puerto Rico and some have family on the island. To help out, they are collecting donations for those in need.
Passaic County sheriff's officers with Locals 197 and 286 were staked out at Lambert Castle in Paterson Saturday, taking donations all day.
Among the items being donated are water, diapers, flashlights, clothing and more.
The collection efforts will continue at the same location on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
