A Parsippany man has been convicted in a 2025 wrong-way crash that left one person dead in Rockaway Township.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office says Victor Peters, 46, was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Route 80 West when he struck a pickup truck.
Peters sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the pickup, 31-year-old Destin Mcknight, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators who responded to the crash say Peters showed signs of being under the influence.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll and Chief of Detectives Robert McNally announced on Thursday that a jury found him guilty of aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
He is set to be sentenced in September.
