The owners of a Metuchen hair salon say that they are eagerly awaiting the June 22 reopening date after being closed for three months.
Sisters Maddisen Maxwell and Danielle Russ ran separate hair salons before the pandemic - Maxwell owned the Michael Bianc Salon in Highland Park while Russ owned the Suite Beverly. Now they're combining businesses and relaunching as the Michael Bianc at Suite Beverly.
Through this pandemic, you know, it just made more sense for us financially and creatively, even just lifestyle-wise, we’re going to be able to count on each other,” says Russ.
The sisters have been keeping in touch with their clients through social media and are preparing the salon for their return.
“We've spread our stations six feet apart…Everybody has to be sanitized…We're going to have an entranceway for the clients to come in and then an exit way for the clients to leave just to comply with the social distancing,” says Maxwell
They say that their customers are looking forward to coming back.
"We're already booked through June into July so I think everybody's eager and ready to come get their hair done,” says Maxwell.
Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive order allows hair salons, barbershops, nail salons and tattoo parlors to reopen on June 22.
