Severe thunderstorms caused damage, flooding and widespread power outages across New Jersey Friday evening into the overnight hours.
The intersection of Ridgewood and Winthrop Place in Maplewood opened to traffic Saturday morning after a downed tree forced a road closure.
Crews worked throughout the night to remove the tree that blocked the road.
In addition to storm damage and downed trees, there were also areas of flooding, which included I-287 South in Morristown as well.
Flooding in Newark resulted in cars becoming stranded there.
