Commuters are being urged to plan extra travel time as storm damage continues to disrupt New Jersey Transit service across parts of North Jersey.

The Morris & Essex Line is operating with limited service in and out of New York Penn Station. The Gladstone Branch will remain suspended through the end of Monday, as crews work to clean up and repair damage caused by this weekend’s storms.

The disruptions are affecting commuters traveling through Summit and communities along both rail lines.

NJ Transit said tickets and passes for the Morris & Essex Line and Gladstone Branch will be cross-honored on the Raritan Valley and Montclair-Boonton lines.

Riders are being encouraged to check travel alerts before heading out and prepare for delays whether traveling by train, car or on foot.

The transit problems come as many communities continue dealing with power outages and storm cleanup.
