Authorities say a child who was playing close to the shore was rushed to the hospital after being struck by an out-of-control Jet Ski at Indian Well State Park Sunday afternoon.
Officials say the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. after the operator reportedly lost control of the Jet Ski and crashed into the child.
A witness told News 12 three girls were on the Jet Ski and each of them had fallen off and quickly after the Jet Ski struck the little girl in the back.
They say once the little girl got hit everyone who saw the impact began to scream.
Authorities at the scene told News 12 that multiple children were taken to the hospital. Officials said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
It is not clear if the person who was operating the Jet Ski was hurt or what made them lose control of the personal watercraft (PWC).
