Boardwalk attractions from Wildwood to Keansburg, and all of the state’s inland amusement parks will finally open for the first time this summer in just one week.
“Every virus is different,” says Craig Alsdorf, with Emergency Services New Jersey. “This is a single walled virus, pretty easy to clean. They have a list of chemicals to look for that.
Jenkinson's hired outside cleaning experts Emergency Services New Jersey to put down an extra layer of safety.
Alsdorf and his crew made sure no ride went untouched, and no indoor arcade game went unsanitized.
"Steramist hydrogen peroxide," says Craig Alsdorf, with Emergency Services New Jersey. "When it goes through the process, it releases a little H2O water and a little bit of air, so everything we are doing is great."
With just one week remaining, it's a lot of work for the people at Jenkinson's and other parks in New Jersey to take on, now that Gov. Phil Murphy gave the go ahead to reopen the rest of the boardwalk.
“It really is great for the whole entire Jersey Shore,” says Toby Wolf, with Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. “I know the New Jersey Attractions Association worked very closely with the governor's office to create a safe guideline which we should be getting in the next couple days. So, we have the week to prepare and implement everything.”
Wolf says they are already looking into possibly extending the season come this fall to make up for the lost time.
