Police responded to the 200 block of Springfield Avenue in Newark on reports of a shooting on Thursday.

Officials said officers arrived around 2:26 p.m. and found three males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Two victims were taken to University Hospital. One victim, Nyree Williams, 24, of Newark, was pronounced dead around 2:38 p.m.

No arrests have been announced, and police said there are no suspects at this time.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating.
